With thanks and full acknowledgement to Georgina Manvell and Suzannah Holwell from The Old Toy Knitting Shop for their incredible pattern, the mystery knitting project is now revealed in all ‘his’ glory.
‘He’ is, of course, the Lincoln Imp, rascally resident of Lincoln Cathedral, where copies of the pattern can also be purchased.
Turned to stone by an angel for his cheeky behaviour, the imp has now been turned into wool.
Here the Lincoln imp sits on guard in my garden, brandishing knitted tulips, a reminder of my school days in Spalding.
But who knew the imp could knit?!
His knitting style is very relaxed and he seems to enjoy brights and pastels.
Maybe the imp will join the Fenton Knitting Group?
