Looking forward to Easter

The ladies of the Fenton Knitting Group are in for an early Easter treat this evening – handmadebysoo simnel cake. According to Mr handmadebysoo it’s a bit of a house speciality. Let’s hope there’s a slice or two left for him!

Happy Birthday, Marie!

What do you give the woman who has everything for her 50th birthday? That’s easy! You knit her a Jean Greenhowe clown, holding a paint brush and a tube of paint to represent her love of art. Then you knit a string of bunting, which reads ‘Happy Birthday, Marie’ and wind it around his hat.

Skinny rib jumper – finished!

Skinny jumper

Just in time for the snowy weather, I’ve knitted this 70s throw back, skinny rib polo neck jumper. It was an ‘in between’ project, the kind you can pick up and knit whilst watching TV, reserving the aran patterns for quieter moments when you’re more able to concnetrate. The wool is James C Brett marble chunky. The self striping colours are perfect for me. The jumper is warm and snuggly and also very flattering.
