Looking forward, looking back

This year the Fenton Knitting Group will be celebrating its fourth anniversary. Our core membership continues strongly and we welcome every new knitter warmly.

Sitting round the table with friends over your knitting, crochet or sewing, drinking tea, eating cake and keeping up to date with local goings on – what’s not to love?

When I first moved back to Lincolnshire from Kent it was a wrench to leave my knitting group behind, but the joy of that group and the fond memories inspired me to start all over again. I’m so glad I did.

Thank you to the ladies of the Aylesford Knitting Group.

Our garden open day

On Sunday 24 June we shall be opening our tiny cottage garden to the public to raise money for the Nystagmus Network, a charity very close to our hearts. There may be some yarn bombing – there will definitely be cakes!

Everyone welcome!

My light as air shrug

Just in time for the warmer weather, I have finished knitting my shrug. The pattern is from Debbie Bliss, Knits for you and your home and the yarn is one of my all time favourites, kid silk haze.

This will be perfect to throw around my shoulders over a summer dress on cooler afternoons or as the sun goes down in the evening. The sleeves are three quarter length and the back reaches down well below the seat.

The whole shrug weighs less than 150g!
