I began to feel as if this project really would go on forever, but, thanks to some nice long Sunday afternoon costume dramas on TV and some very snowy weekends, I managed to sit still long enough to finish my lovely long aran jacket. I made it in homage to Louis from Gogglebox, whose cardigan I have coveted since first I spotted it! Here’s a picture of Louis in his – and me in mine!

If, like me, you’re still frantically trying to finish off your summer knitting projects (I currently have two cotton summer jumpers waiting to be sewn up and a third still on the needles!) then the answer is probably yes, it is too soon to be thinking about Christmas jumpers.
The really good news is, though, that we can definitely look forward to another crafty run up to the festive season on TV courtesy of Kirstie Allsopp and friends.
So come on everyone, give this Christmas jumper designing thing your very best shot this year!
I realise I must be something of a rare breed, but I have never watched GBBO before. Yes, I make cakes (a lot of cakes!). Yes, I watch TV (mostly whilst knitting!). But a TV programme based on the premise of competitive baking?!
So why have I decided to give this season a go? The answer is simple! Nadiya! I was vaguely aware that Nadiya was the winner of the last series … and then I heard her speaking on Dessert (sic!) Island Discs and I thought ‘If someone as engaging as this is involved in that show then maybe I am seriously missing out!’
So tonight I will be watching and I will even put my knitting aside. Mel, Sue, Mary and Paul – I am (finally) ready. Let the baking begin!
Here’s 2 I made earlier! So far this week I have already baked a Victoria sponge for my husband’s lunches and a jam swiss roll for my knitting ladies. And yes, I even have the gingham!
